What Bihu celebrated

How many Bihus are there?
Three. Bohag or Rongali Bihu in April is the new year and the largest; Magh or Bhogali Bihu in January is the harvest feast; Kati or Kongali Bihu in October is the sparse one, kept with lamps in the fields.
What is a gamosa?
A white cotton cloth with a woven red border, given as a token of respect and affection. Handing one to an elder at Bihu is close to obligatory.
What is Magh Bihu?
The January harvest Bihu, kept with community feasts and temporary huts called meji and bhelaghar, burned on the morning after the night's feasting.
